What’s new at The First Tee of Charlottesville

From the Executive Director

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for visiting The First Tee of Charlottesville. The schedule for Summer 2, 3 & the Fall has been and posted on our website and registration is open. Due to the late closing of several School Districts, Week 1 of Summer 1 dates are now June 13, 14, & 15. Week 2  and 3 will run on the previously scheduled dates.

Much has been discussed regarding the future of our Chapter which began in June of 2002. Through mutual agreement between the City of Charlottesville and the World Golf Foundation, the current Chapter will end programming on November 30, 2013. Our goal is to keep The First Tee presence here in Charlottesville, Albemarle and surrounding counties for the long term. We are in discussions with a nearby The First Tee Chapter to restructure/partner or be absorbed, so we can continue to provide and grow The First Tee experience for our youth in 2014 and beyond.

Thank you to our Advisory Board Chair Wayne Hall and Board members, the parents, coaches, community supporters and Chapter participants who attended the meetings, spoke on our behalf, sent letters and E mails in support of the Chapter and its importance to our community. Your commitment and hard work for The First Tee is greatly appreciated.
